Data Backup
Data stored in Mtron SSD are not guaranteed by the manufacturer.
Please always backup important data.
Electrostatic protection
Be careful of electrostatic discharge when opening and installing the product. The static electricity may be conducted into Mtron SSD, and it may interferewith the product's operation or damage the product, in worst case. Remove
the static electricity from the equipments which contact or are connected to the ground, by touching them.
Moisture Protection
Moisture may contaminate the electronic circuit and thus make data unreadable. Parts may corrode when they are exposed to the moisture for a long time.
Impact Protection
Although Mtron SSD withstands vibration or impact very well, please avoid any extreme impact for protection.
No Arbitrary Disassembly/Destruction
The warranty will not apply to products that have been arbitrarily disassembled or destroyed.
Impact Protection while Carrying or Storing.
The external enclosure is vulnerable to impact, since it is separated form the main body. Please be carefull not to drop or fell it.
Use of Auxiliary Power
In case of external enclosure using a USB port, it may not be provided with sufficient power.
Please use the auxiliary power adapter supplied by the manufacturer of external enclosure.
External Enclosure's Ground Connection
Make sure the external enclosure's circuit is grounded well, otherwise it may get damaged easily by static electricity or electromagnetic wave.
Step 1: Jumper Setting (PATA model only / SATA model does not need any jumper settings.)
3.5" PATA model
2.5" PATA model
Step 2: Mounting to computer
Please turn off the computer before mounting SSD.
Ways to open the case or mounting locations may vary depending on computers. Please refer to the user's manual provided by your computer's manufacturer.
1 Unplug all cables and dissassemble the computer.
2 Mount the SSD into an empty drive bay, and fix it with screws from sides or bottom.
Do not insert the screw more than the depth of 3.8mm.
3 Connect IDE or SATA interface cable as well as the power cable, and reassemble the computer.
Make sure the direction of the power cable is correct, otherwise a serious damage may occur.
Step 3: Making SSD detectable
1 Turn on the computer and enter into CMOS setup screen during the start-up.
2 On the CMOS/BIOS setup screen, select SATA, PATA, or SATA/PATA combination according to the model. Please refer to the user's manual from the manufacturer for CMOS/BIOS setup screen.
Step 4: Partitioning and Formatting
Mtron SSD can be partitioned and formatted in the same way used for standard hard drives.
Please refer to the user's manual that came with your operating system, for details about partitioning and formatting.
By default, Mtron SSD is low-level formatted. Computers cannot detect SSD without partitioning and formatting it.
CMOS/BIOS cannot detect SSD
1 Make sure each cable is connected correctly.
2 for PATA model, check if the jumper is set correctly.
3 if cables and jumper are ok, make sure CMOS/BIOS settings are correct. Please refer to the user's manual provided by the manufacturer of computer or motherboard, for details about system BIOS setup.
CMOS detects SSD, but it does not show up in Windows
1 Check if it was partitioned and formatted correctly. Depending on operating systems, partitions can be generated by Fdisk or during OS installation. Please refer to the user's manual that came with the operating system, for details about partitioning and formatting.
An Error occurs when restarting the computer after installing the OS
1 Disable AHCI mode in the CMOS/BIOS setup.
2 Install the SATA device driver if provided by the manufacturer of computer or motherboard.
