Firmware update Mtron Solid State Disk 7000 - 7500 - 3000 - 3500

New release firmware February 2009

Mtron Storage Technology is now releasing firmware version 0.20R1 for our SSDs to the public.

Make a bootable USB drive

1. Download and unzip This file.

2. Run the "SP27608.exe" file.

3. Open the program( it can be found under Start -> All programs -> Hewlett-Packard Company -> HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool).

4. Select your USB drive.

5. Select "Create a DOS startup disk".

6. Select "using DOS system files located at".

7. Now select the directory that is named "win98boot".

8. Press Start. When finished you have a Bootable USB drive.

9. Now put the firmware files(up.exe and mtron.mfi) in the root of your USB drive.

10. Now follow the guide for further instructions.

Attention

  • Back up user data (files) in the SSD before firmware upgrade. Mtron Storage Technology is not responsible for any data loss.
  • Select the correct firmware file for the specific SSD model. Any failures due to the negligence may cause serious damage to the product and Mtron Storage Technology does not take any responsibility.
  • Due to its internal structure change, firmware is not to be downgraded to the versions below 0.19r1h3. If you do not experience any technical problems, firmware upgrade is not necessary.
  • Power failure or intentional plugging off during firmware upgrade may cause serious damage on SSD.
  • When firmware update completed, power off the system and start the system again.

How to upgrade the firmware

Read this first

  • You must read the Update Guide before upgrade.
  • If you need to Image file for Booting DISK, downloads FreeDOS Booting Image before you upgrade.
  • Select your Product Type/Interface/Form Factor/Capacity. When you upzip the file, up.exe and mtron.mfi files will be created.
